SENIORS: Marissa Sofele - The Lioness!

It's Senior Fever for the Class of 2011!
I really enjoy doing senior sessions. It's that transition from youth to an adult. The excitement of graduation, prom, college and the real world. For me it's always that in between transition that I love about doing shooting seniors. I remember the excitement of graduation and finally getting over that hump and entering a world of adulthood.
In this session is the lovely Marissa Sofele! Creatively, I always leave it up to the senior to give me their ideas and run with what they would like to do. I try to stay away from doing the typical & dreaded senior pictures. If I had a sample of my senior picture it would lie under the definition of "fail" LOL.
Marissa was great. She came equipped with her vision of doing something safari like and just styling it up for the camera! She's a natural. We had so much fun in the hills & playing with all kinds of looks.
One Word: "ROAR!" like a lion. Congrats & good luck Marissa! May you pursue your dreams with a lion-like attitude! -RM

"No matter what a family bond can never be broken,
even through a nuclear explosion,
if one of us lives we all live. "

While I was in New Zealand I had a blast doing mini-sessions with: Darae, Mele'ofa, and the Hau Family!

3 Mini Sessions in one BLOG POST! Check it out!

What can I say about Darae? He is a natural! Full of smiles and some really cool candid moments. There is this wonderful spirit about this young boy that kind of makes you smile when you see him smile.
He had me (Uncle) rolling around the grass to get some really cool shots of him in his element!

"A Day in the park with Mele'ofa Hadassah Abigail Finau! "
This mini-session with Mele'ofa also known as "Bubba" was a spontaneous day at the park! . I think that's one of the childhood memories where we would go to the park & just have at it with the swings, the slides, playing hide & seek and my favorite... the see-saw!
I had to grab my camera and catch all of this laughter & fun!
So much so that I even jumped into a couple of pictures with Mele'ofa to chant her on while she danced up a storm! The burst of energy that she had was really contagious!
Now you know I couldn't let her have ALL the fun by herself?!
Thank you Maryanne for being our chaperone! Ha!

Here are some of my favorites!

Last but, definitely not least. The HAU FAMILY! I had a wonderful time getting to know all of them and we had our own fun at the park as well! Truly grateful to be around a close-knit family. It really minds me of me of my brothers & sisters growing up.
Check out this really fun shoot! Special thanks to Soana Hau for a great time with your family!
